Farmers first, in name and in data.
We build the infrastructure that lets every actor in the first mile work from the same verified, consented data — with the farmer at the centre.
Farmer1st is the first-mile infrastructure built around farmers: a farmer-controlled network where companies, governments and organisations collect, verify and share origin data — and build the services they need on top of it. Our mission is to make farmers the first beneficiaries of their own data. We are a team of 12 based in Cambodia, with a parent company in Singapore.
Why does Farmer1st exist?
Some 500 million smallholders grow much of the world's food and commodities. The systems that trade, finance, certify and regulate their crops know very little about them — and what they do know is collected again and again, by every buyer and every programme, and rarely returned to the farmer.
Our mission is to make farmers the first beneficiaries of their own data. When farmers control what is shared, with whom and for what, the data becomes more reliable, the legal basis becomes clear, and the value created from it can flow back to them: better advice, better access to finance, fair compensation for their contribution to surveys, and proof of good practice that buyers are asked to pay for.
For companies, governments and organisations, this is not charity. It is the most reliable way to get audit-ready, first-mile data that holds up in front of a regulator.
