One data backbone for the first mile, with the farmer at the centre.
Five layers wrap around the farmer. Every service you switch on, and every actor in the chain, plugs into the same verified, consented record.
Farmer1st is the first-mile infrastructure built around farmers: a farmer-controlled network where companies, governments and organisations collect, verify and share origin data. Five layers — Field, Data, Geo, Intelligence and Network — sit on one data backbone, so every module you switch on reuses the same verified farmers, plots and consents.
One network. The farmer at the centre.
Each actor sees only what the farmer has consented to share with them, for a stated purpose.

Offline-first apps for field agents and farmers — collection where the work happens.
A verified farmer and plot registry: one record, consented and traceable.
Audit-ready geolocation: polygons checked and deforestation assessed up to today.
Plot-level risk signals, and AI added to support farmers and users.
Connects to the field tools, ERPs and compliance platforms you already use.
What does each layer of the platform do?
Each layer does one job and hands verified data to the next. Together they form the first-mile data layer that compliance, sourcing and impact programmes all depend on.
Field — where the data is born
Offline-first apps for field agents, cooperatives and farmers. Registration, plot mapping, surveys, training and deliveries are captured on a phone where the work happens, and synchronised when a network is available. Missions, routes and supervision keep collection quality visible. See field agent management and the farmer app.
Data — one verified record per farmer
A farmer and plot registry where each person and each plot exists once, with a history of who collected what, when and under which consent. Duplicates and inconsistencies are flagged, not silently merged. This is the record every other module reads from.
Geo — audit-ready geolocation
Polygons captured, imported or AI-assisted from any source, validated for geometry and overlaps, and assessed for deforestation up to today rather than frozen at a single year. Your calculation method, not ours imposed. See geo & polygons.
Intelligence — plot-level risk signals
Risk signals at the level of the plot and the supplier: deforestation, legality, traceability gaps, suspicious patterns. AI is added to support farmers and the teams who use the tools, from an AI agronomist to assisted data mapping.
Network — private by default, consented, connected
The layer that lets actors work on the same farmers without seeing each other's business. What is yours stays private by default; what buyers agree to pool is shared once, on terms they set together. It also connects to the field tools, ERPs and compliance platforms you already use. See the pre-competitive network.
Why build on infrastructure rather than buy another fixed tool?
A fixed tool answers the question it was designed for. The first mile keeps asking new ones — a new regulation, a new commodity, a new programme.
Does Farmer1st replace the tools we already use?
No. Farmer1st complements the ecosystem. It plugs into the field tools, ERPs and compliance platforms you already use and fills the first-mile gap between them.
Import from any source
Farmer lists, plot files and survey exports from existing field tools or spreadsheets, mapped to the registry with AI assistance. See data integration.
Send to your systems
Verified farmers, plots, risk signals and delivery records exchanged with your ERP, sourcing or compliance platform.
File with the authorities
Due diligence statements prepared for direct submission to EU TRACES. See EUDR compliance.
Work with national systems
Where a country runs its own registry or traceability system, Farmer1st integrates with it rather than competing with it.
How does data move through the platform?
- 01
Collect
Field agents and farmers capture registrations, plots and answers offline, with consent recorded for each use.
- 02
Verify
The registry de-duplicates farmers, geometry is checked, and plots are assessed for deforestation up to today.
- 03
Signal
Plot-level risk signals and quality flags show where to act first.
- 04
Share
Each actor receives what the farmer has consented to, in the format their systems and regulators need.

Frequently asked questions
What is a first-mile data layer?
It is the set of verified data about the start of a supply chain: who the farmers are, where their plots are, how the crop was grown and where it went first. Farmer1st provides it as ready-made infrastructure, so companies and programmes don't each rebuild the tools. Each one's data stays private unless it decides to share it.
Who owns the data on Farmer1st?
Farmers control data about themselves and their plots. Consent is recorded for each use, and each organisation sees only what it has been granted. Your commercial data — prices, volumes, supplier relationships — stays private to you. See trust and farmer data.
Does the platform work without a network connection?
Yes. The field apps are offline-first: agents and farmers can register, map plots and answer surveys without coverage, and data synchronises when a connection is available. AI is added to support farmers and the teams who use the tools.
Can Farmer1st connect to our ERP or compliance platform?
Yes. Farmer1st plugs into the field tools, ERPs and compliance platforms you already use, in both directions. We map your existing data rather than asking you to start again. See data integration.
What if the module we need doesn't exist?
We build it with you in the Nursery, on the same platform, reusing what is already there. The prototype you test is the product you keep.
